The Spark Retreat

Fee Policy

The retreat fee includes two nights of lodging and all meals prepared by a private chef. Meals provided are: hors d'oeuvres on Friday evening; breakfast, lunch, and a multi-course sensory dinner on Saturday; and breakfast on Sunday prior to departure.

Travel to, from, and during the retreat is not included in the fee.

Deposit and Payment Policy

After submitting this form, you will receive a separate email with your full invoice based on the accommodation selected and timing of registration. A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to reserve your spot and is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The remaining balance is due five weeks prior to the start of the retreat. Partial or full payments are welcome at any time before the due date.

If space is available for late registration, full payment is due upon receipt of the invoice.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to Learning 4 Life. Please note the following terms:

  • All deposits are non-refundable.

  • Cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee, regardless of the reason.

  • Cancellations made at least 5 weeks prior to the first day of the retreat will receive a refund, minus the deposit and processing fee.

  • Cancellations made less than 5 weeks before the retreat are non-refundable.

  • No refunds will be issued for partial attendance or if a participant chooses not to attend the full event.

In the case of cancellation due to unforeseen or uncontrollable events (force majeure), such as war, civil unrest, strikes, terrorism, severe weather, natural disasters, or other emergencies, Learning 4 Life reserves the right to cancel or reschedule and will not issue refunds unless or until any recoverable event-related funds are received. If recoverable funds become available, applicable expenses will be deducted, and any remaining amount will be distributed equitably among affected participants. In the event of cancellation or rescheduling due to force majeure, Learning 4 Life will notify participants as soon as possible.

Nature of the Event

This retreat is designed to support participants in clarifying their personal values, aligning those values with their child care business, and connecting with others who nurture the minds of young children.

Participants are strongly encouraged to fully engage in both the morning and afternoon guided group sessions, as well as the Saturday evening dinner. Your presence and participation are key to creating a meaningful and connected experience for all.

We invite you to approach the retreat with a spirit of openness, curiosity, and respect for yourself and others.

Disclaimers

  • Each participant is responsible for engaging in retreat activities to the extent that feels physically and emotionally appropriate for them.

  • Please notify Learning 4 Life of any dietary restrictions, allergies, or health considerations prior to the event.

  • Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their health insurance documentation for the duration of the retreat.

  • Smoking is not permitted inside or near the retreat venue.

In the event of a medical emergency, I authorize Learning 4 Life to seek emergency medical treatment if necessary and understand I am responsible for all associated costs.

The information and experiences shared during this retreat are intended solely for educational and personal growth purposes. I am not a licensed medical doctor, therapist, attorney, financial advisor, or tax advisor. All content provided is based on personal experience, knowledge, and training.

Nothing shared during the retreat should be interpreted as medical, legal, financial, or tax advice. Please seek guidance from a qualified professional in the appropriate field if needed.

I understand that this retreat may involve emotional exploration and personal reflection. I take full responsibility for my mental and emotional well-being during the event.

Participation in this retreat is voluntary. By attending, you acknowledge and accept full responsibility for your own well-being, decisions, and experiences.

Photography and Media Use

Learning 4 Life may photograph and/or record video during the retreat. By attending, participants grant permission for these images and recordings to be used in Learning 4 Life's promotional materials, publications, website, and social media without further consent or compensation.

Participants release Learning 4 Life and its representatives from any liability related to the use of such photographs or videos.

Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability

By checking the box, signing, and submitting registration for this Participant Agreement, you acknowledge and accept the following:

Learning 4 Life and its representatives shall not be held liable—except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct—for any injury, damage, loss, delay, or irregularity caused by any circumstance, including but not limited to:

  • Defects in vehicles or equipment

  • Acts or defaults of third-party transportation providers

  • Natural disasters (acts of God)

  • Terrorism, war, or government restrictions

  • Strikes, thefts, quarantine delays, or civil disturbances

  • Accidents by aircraft, boat, bicycle, or motor vehicle

You agree to assume full responsibility for any personal risk associated with the event. Learning 4 Life, its employees, agents, or other participants shall not be held liable for:

  • Death, illness, or personal injury

  • Delay or early departure from the event

  • Loss of or damage to personal property (including luggage)

  • Any activities outside of the official retreat itinerary

Participants agree to treat the retreat venue and property with care and respect. Any damages to the property, furniture, décor, or equipment caused by a participant (or someone accompanying them) may be billed directly to the participant at the discretion of Learning 4 Life.

Participant Conduct

Learning 4 Life reserves the right to accept or remove any participant from the retreat at any time if, in its sole discretion, a participant is disruptive, violates local laws or venue rules, or is detrimental to the group experience. No refunds or reimbursements will be given in such cases.

Alcohol may be served at the retreat but will not be sold. Participants agree not to provide alcohol to minors and to consume responsibly. Learning 4 Life reserves the right to restrict or remove access to alcohol at any time. Any participant who becomes disruptive or poses a safety risk due to intoxication may be removed from the event without refund.

Participants agree to comply with all applicable local laws, venue policies, and Learning 4 Life guidelines during the retreat.

Participants agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Learning 4 Life, its employees, agents, and representatives from any claims, damages, liabilities, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising from their actions or omissions during the retreat.

I agree to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of fellow participants. What is shared within the group remains within the group.

Participants are responsible for their personal property. Learning 4 Life is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged belongings before, during, or after the retreat.

Acknowledgment and Agreement

I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to the terms outlined in this Participant Agreement, including all policies related to fees, payments, cancellations, participation, disclaimers, liability, media use, and conduct. I acknowledge that this retreat is held at a third-party venue with its own terms of use. By attending, participants agree to abide by any site-specific policies communicated before or during the retreat. I accept full responsibility for my choices and well-being during the retreat and understand that Learning 4 Life is not liable except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Participant information will be kept confidential and used solely for retreat-related purposes in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including U.S. privacy regulations. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, and any legal action arising under this agreement shall be brought in the courts located in Chippewa County, Wisconsin.
